TJ's Bullmastiffs is located in the small town of Corapeake North Carolina which is just over the
Virginia state line. We are outside of Suffolk Virginia and an hour from the Virginia Beach oceanfront and approx. 2.5
hours from Raleigh North Carolina. We moved to the country to enjoy peace and quiet. We are surrounded by
the Great Dismal Swamp which even though a swamp holds much beauty and history. Wildlife is abundant in
the swamp and we do see some of it from time to time. Bear, deer, fox, coyote, bobcat, racoon, opossum, and snakes,
and skunks are in our woods. Hawk, eagles, owls, osprey, and many other birds are found. We do not
want to forget alligators!!
My husband, son and I have lived here in Gates County for 12 years. We moved from Chesapeake, Va where I had raised
and shown Keeshond dogs. I have been an animal lover all my life into horse showing and dogs. When we moved to
NC I no long had any dogs but had horses then decided to go into another breed of dog which turned out to be the bullmastiff.
What a great breed I picked for myself. This breed is not for everyone. It is not without its issues.
It is a very large, strong, hardheaded breed that needs lots of discipline, and socialization with people and other dogs but
with this comes a wonderful pet if raised right. People need to do their homework before taking on any breed.
